I couldn't even finish this book because Kinsley annoyed me so so much. Her "free -spiritedness" just translated to not having any boundaries, trashing Maddox's house after he generously allowed her to stay there, stealing all of his cleaning products and "donating" them to her work ( i guess it didn't bother her to use chemicals there?) Also getting rid of all his toiletries without asking because she thinks he needs to use products that are better for the environment? ughhhhh i could go on and on. Hard pass on this book. In the beginning, I liked the book. I loved Maddox. I didn’t like Kinsley. The more I read, the fewer stars I wanted to give—until I ended up here. DNF-1 Star.I get that Kinsley’s supposed to be quirky, but I just personally found a lot of her behaviors rude which makes it hard to connect with her or root for her. She’s a guest in H’s home. He’s doing her an extremely generous favor, and she rearranged his entire house. She throws out his cleaning supplies, forces him to eat food he doesn’t like, and MAKES A MESS of his home that she doesn’t even clean up!!! She insists on sleeping on a cot that’s falling apart rather than the couch or sharing his bed, claiming she doesn’t want to inconvenience him. Yet, she leaves his house a mess so that he returns after a week on the road to a disaster zone. Then she goes on a dates leaving HIM to clean it up. Just very unattractive behavior that constantly pulled me out of the story because I was so irritated. Every few pages, I’m thinking who does that?!?!She’s a vegan. Great! But she’s constantly taking him to restaurants/making food that doesn’t accommodate his tastes, too. He won’t eat meat around her because her of her response. That’s ridiculous. He shouldn’t have to eat vegan to make her happy. Everyone’s food/eating needs should be able to be respected.One rule he sets for allowing her to stay with him is no animals in his apartment. What does she do? She brings in an animal. Then she puts his $2000 suit on said animal! Then asks a HIM to walk said dog that he didn’t even want in his place! She has no respect for boundaries or property. It’s super obnoxious. And I love animals! I bring home strays—but I also respect people’s boundaries and know how to be a good GUEST in someone else’s home!!! Honestly, she acts like a child.He asks her not to bring other people into his place. What does she do? She has other people in his apartment, entertaining then like it’s her home. And acts offended when he’s not thrilled to walk in to see them there.At that point, I simply couldn’t finish reading the book. And it takes a lot for me to DNF. But I think I hate Kinsley and I really don’t want her to end up with Maddox. His life will be miserable! He deserves so much better. Save yourself the frustration and don’t read this book.
